Liverpool FC striker Diogo Jota died in a car accident in the Spanish province of Zamora on Thursday morning. Fans of the 28-year-old are mourning.

Fans around the world are shocked and mourning the brothers' deaths. They told Reuters:

“I thought it was a bad joke.”

"I was lying in bed and got the call from my mom and she said Jota is dead, and I just thought, what? I was so shocked, I immediately jumped out of bed and couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe it at all. I didn't want to believe it."

"Devastated. If you're not part of the football family, you probably won't understand. And he's still so young, he has children."

"It's so frustrating that he was so young. He just got married and has three children. It's so sad. You know, he was a great footballer for us."

"Next season, it will cast a shadow over everything because he should be here. He should be playing, but I know he'll be watching with pride. The team, the club, and the fans, we'll all miss him."

Prince William has also already commented on Jota’s death.
